Project Overview

Our company partnered with Velocity Capital Partner Berhad to design, develop, and deploy a unique e-commerce and instalment payment marketplace called Simpel. The project spanned the full development cycle — from requirements gathering, system flow design, and UI/UX development to deployment, API integrations, and publishing the mobile app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Objectives

The goal of Simpel is to create a secure and convenient online marketplace exclusively for Malaysian government servants, offering flexible instalment payments regulated through ANGKASA (Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad). By leveraging direct salary deduction via ANGKASA’s automated systems, Simpel provides a trusted, low-risk way for civil servants to shop now and pay later.

Key Features

Instalment-Only Marketplace

Customers browse and shop for products via the Simpel mobile app, which functions similarly to major marketplaces like Shopee. The key differentiator is that all purchases are paid through instalments — exclusively available to government employees whose salaries are regulated by ANGKASA.

Live Video Shopping

Sellers can host live video streams showcasing products. Customers can interact, add items to their carts in real time, and checkout directly during the live session.

Customer Eligibility Verification

At checkout, customers must provide their IC, payslip, and sign a declaration form. The system uses this data, combined with API integration to ANGKASA, to verify employment status, income details, and existing loan obligations.

Automated Loan & Deduction Processing

Once an order is placed, the admin reviews the customer’s profile, checks credit scores, existing loans, and instalment eligibility. Upon approval, the system submits the customer’s loan details to ANGKASA via API. ANGKASA then automatically deducts instalment amounts from the customer’s salary each month before disbursement.

Dynamic Instalment Plans

Each product or variation can have its own instalment duration, interest rates, extra fees (insurance, handling, road tax), discounts, and tax settings. The system automatically calculates the monthly payment breakdown for both admin and customers.

Integrated Logistics with Line Clear

Simpel is integrated with Line Clear’s logistics system, automating shipping orders, airway bill (AWB) generation, tracking updates, and delivery status notifications. Customers are kept informed via push notifications and emails.

Order Tracking & Instalment Management

Customers can easily track their order and delivery status and view detailed instalment schedules, total repayment amounts, and payment history via their mobile app account.

Comprehensive Admin Panel

The web-based admin dashboard is designed for full operational control: <br> • Product, stock, category, brand, offer, coupon, and banner management <br> • Live session management <br> • Customer and vendor management <br> • Employee accounts with permission and capability restrictions <br> • Helpdesk and ticketing system for customer support <br> • Integrated announcements, inbox, and messaging features <br> • Advanced reporting modules: product, order, instalment, and loan status reports synced with ANGKASA data

Merchant Panel

Vendors have their own secure panel to manage products, stock, orders, instalment settings, and shipping.

Front-Facing Website

A customer-friendly website supports user registration, browsing, promotions, and general information — seamlessly integrated with the mobile app.

Automated Notifications

Admins can send targeted push notifications, reminders, and promotional messages to specific users or user groups.
Our Role
Conducted detailed business analysis to map financial flows and compliance needs with ANGKASA.
Designed user-centric system flows, UI/UX for mobile and web.
